Shelach Lecha - Rashi (13:2) “L’daatcha” Gemara Shabbos 104a - One who comes to purity, they help him; one who comes to defile, they allow him.... Rabainu Yerucham - without HaShem’s constant help we would not be able to succeed, at any spiritual goal. If we persist in “our way” rather than HaShem’s, then HaShem allows us to fail. A person’s entire avoda can therefore be condensed into our basic desire: Are we trying to elevate our souls, or satisfy our bodies? Lo Sasuru - Last of the six constant mitzvos Rashi (15:39) The eyes and heart are “spies” for the body. The eye sees, the heart desires, and the body does the aveira. What are women, who are not obligated in mitzvos, to do vis a vis lo sasuru? We are aware of the effect of scantily clad women (e.g. in advertising at the mall) on men - is there an issue with “lo sasuru” for women?
